The Sacred Order of the Beignet operates out of the food court, frying fresh beignets all day (get the Mickey-shaped ones dusted to order); the Scat Cat's Club lounge pours beignet-adjacent cocktails to live jazz on weekends. French Quarter shares Riverside's river boat to Disney Springs and often shares its buses, the only real drawback. For couples and anyone allergic to mega-resort sprawl, this is the coziest address in the moderate tier, so book early, it's small and it sells out.

Rooms line up in seven buildings around the central square, dressed in wrought iron and jewel tones with recent refreshes keeping them crisp. Nothing is more than about five minutes from the lobby, pool, or boat dock, which makes this the easiest resort on property to actually live in. No suites and no frills, just the most walkable address Disney operates.

✨ The Lobby & Grounds

The lobby plays as a Mardi Gras mint with parade props overhead, and the 'streets' outside carry the theme: cobblestones, gas lamps, ivy on iron balconies, and jazz drifting from hidden speakers. At night with the lamps lit it is legitimately romantic, which nobody expects from a moderate. The Sassagoula boat dock sits right at the edge of the square.

🏊 Pools & Recreation

Doubloon Lagoon wraps around a sea serpent slide that swallows you whole and spits you into the pool, with alligator musicians spraying the splash zone. It is small, like the resort, and that is the charm: the pool, the hot tub, and the bar sit steps from every building. Riverside's Ol' Man Island and quiet pools are a pleasant walk upriver and fair game for guests here.

🍽️ Dining at Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter

Scat Cat's Club serves the famous Mickey beignets, powdered sugar everywhere, and the attached lounge pours Southern cocktails to live jazz some nights. The Sassagoula Floatworks food court handles po' boys and gumbo. Boatwright's at Riverside is a ten minute stroll for table service, and the boat runs you to Disney Springs' entire lineup.
