The Cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort

TBD
Boat🚌 Bus

Your own cabin in 750 acres of pine and cypress forest, fully rebuilt in 2024 as modern park-model cabins with full kitchens, real bedrooms, private patios with grills, and space for six. Fort Wilderness is its own world: deer wander the loops, golf carts (rent one; it's essential and it's the culture) putter between campfires, and the nightly Chip 'n' Dale Campfire Sing-A-Long with s'mores and an outdoor movie is free. The Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue, Disney's rowdy dinner show with fried chicken and washboard vaudeville, has been selling out since 1974 and remains one of the most purely fun nights on property. Magic Kingdom is a scenic boat ride across Bay Lake. It's not for everyone: internal buses take patience and nothing is close. But for families who want camp-vacation energy with Disney magic, nothing else comes close.

🛏️ The Rooms

The cabins were fully rebuilt in 2024 as sleek park model homes sleeping six: a real bedroom, a full kitchen, a proper bathroom, and a furnished patio with your own grill and picnic table under the pines. They are the only Disney accommodation where you get walls of your own on a private drive, and the quiet at night is total. Golf cart rentals are basically mandatory and half the fun.

The Lobby & Grounds

There is no grand lobby, and that is the point: the resort is the outdoors. Registration sits at the front, then 750 acres of loops unfold under Spanish moss, with deer wandering at dawn and the smell of campfires after dark. The Settlement at the lake end holds the docks, the beach, and the nightly Chip 'n' Dale Campfire Sing-A-Long with s'mores and a movie under the stars, free to everyone staying here.

🏊 Pools & Recreation

The Meadow swimmin' pool brings a corkscrew slide and a splash pad deep in the loops, with a second pool at the Wilderness Cabins area. But recreation here means the whole property: horseback trail rides, pony rides, archery, canoes, fishing, bike paths for miles, and the white sand beach on Bay Lake for the Electrical Water Pageant every night.

🍽️ Dining at The Cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort

Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue at Pioneer Hall is the essential booking, fried chicken and washboard vaudeville that has sold out since 1974 and remains the most purely fun dinner at Disney World. Trail's End does hearty takeout, P&J's Southern Takeout covers the Settlement, and your own kitchen and grill mean groceries work here like nowhere else on property.

Full menus, grades, and what to order for every restaurant live on the Dining page.

🎀 Mal's Tips

Rent the golf cart the moment you book, they sell out before the cabins do. The boat to Magic Kingdom from the Settlement dock is a proper little cruise across Bay Lake. And even if you never stay here, come for Hoop-Dee-Doo and the campfire; both welcome day visitors.

Best for: Hoop-Dee-Doo Revue, campfires with Chip & Dale, boat to MK
