Rooms lean sleek and mid century modern with an Incredibles accent that works better than it sounds, and the bathrooms are among the biggest in any Disney standard room. The main tower is the one you want: park facing rooms look straight at the castle, lagoon facing rooms watch the water pageant. The cheaper Garden Wing sits outside the A-frame and trades the view for a shorter price tag.
✨ The Lobby & Grounds
The Grand Canyon Concourse is pure 1971 optimism: a monorail sliding silently through the middle of the building every few minutes past Mary Blair's ninety foot mosaic. It is one of the great interior spaces Disney ever built. The fourth floor hums with shops and restaurants, and the observation deck up top opens for fireworks. Walt's original vision of the future still lives here, and it aged into retro cool.
🏊 Pools & Recreation
The main feature pool has a seventeen foot slide and sits along Bay Lake with a sandy wedge of beach beside it, plus a round quiet pool for laps and floating. There are watercraft rentals at the marina, tennis and basketball courts tucked behind, and the walkway to Magic Kingdom doubles as the prettiest morning jog on property. It is the least themed pool complex of the deluxe tier, but the lake makes up for it.
🍽️ Dining at Contemporary Resort
California Grill on the roof is the special occasion play: serious cooking, a real wine list, and the single best fireworks view at Disney World with the music piped onto the observation decks. Chef Mickey's downstairs is the loud, joyful character breakfast institution. Steakhouse 71 quietly serves one of the best burgers on property, and Contempo Cafe handles quick meals under the mosaic.
California Grill

Fifteen stories atop the Contemporary, the California Grill has been Disney World's marquee special-occasion restaurant for three decades, with market-driven American cooking, a serious wine list, sushi and flatbreads alongside oak-fired filets, and floor-to-ceiling windows over the Seven Seas Lagoon. The show is the point: book a table around fireworks time and the restaurant dims its lights, pipes in the show's soundtrack, and opens its outdoor observation decks so you can watch the castle fireworks from the best man-made vantage point on property. Even better: dine earlier in the evening and your receipt readmits you to the deck for the show. Dress code applies; so does the price tag; both are worth it once.

Chef Mickey's

The classic Mickey character meal, staged on the Contemporary's Grand Canyon Concourse with the monorail gliding silently overhead every few minutes, an only-at-Disney backdrop no other restaurant can match. Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Pluto, and Goofy work the room in chef whites, and the napkin-twirling celebration moment is a generational tradition. The buffet itself (Mickey waffles at breakfast, carved meats and mac and cheese at dinner) is serviceable rather than destination dining, and you're paying for guaranteed face time with the fab five without park tickets. Breakfast before a Magic Kingdom day is the classic play: characters, waffles, then walk or monorail straight to the gates.

Book California Grill for a time that overlaps the fireworks and linger; your reservation gets you deck access even if you eat early. The walk to Magic Kingdom beats the monorail at closing time, every time. And Garden Wing rooms can cost hundreds less for the same address, if you can live without the tower view.
