EPCOT Food & Wine, The Way I Actually Do It: My Booth Route, Real Numbers, and What I Order

September is my favorite time to be at EPCOT. The Food & Wine Festival is running, the World Showcase promenade is lined with booths, and the whole park feels like a giant, delicious walking loop. It can also feel overwhelming if you show up without a plan, so here's exactly how I do it. 🍽️

Go on a weekday if you can

Food & Wine gets busiest Friday through Sunday, especially after 4pm when locals arrive after work. If your trip has any flexibility, do your big eating day on a Tuesday or Wednesday. Lines at the popular booths (Flavors from Fire, Hops & Barley, anything in Germany) go from two minutes to fifteen on a Saturday evening.

I also like arriving around 11am rather than at rope drop. Booths typically open around then, so I ride first and eat second. My morning is usually Test Track or Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, then Frozen Ever After, then I start my loop hungry.

My booth route

The mistake I made on my first Food & Wine trip was zigzagging back and forth across World Showcase. Now I pick a direction and commit.

I enter World Showcase on the Mexico side and walk counterclockwise toward Canada. Why that direction: the shady side of the promenade in the late morning is generally the Mexico through Germany stretch, and the pavilions I like to duck into for air conditioning (Mexico, Norway, China) come early when I'm still overheating.

If you're staying at a Skyliner or Boardwalk area resort, flip it. Walk in through the International Gateway, start near France and the United Kingdom, and go clockwise. Same loop, way less backtracking, and you can walk home for a break.

One loop, roughly 12 booths, three or four bites each with breaks in the pavilions along the way. That's a very full afternoon.

What I actually order

Menus change every year, so always check the My Disney Experience app for the current lineup, but these are the categories that never let me down:

  • The Canada booth filet. Small portion, big flavor, feels like a real meal for the price. This is always my first stop if I'm going clockwise.
  • Anything with a grill involved. The barbecue and smoked meat style booths consistently give you the most food for the money.
  • Ireland's fisherman pie style dish. Warm and heavy, so I split it.
  • Belgium waffle with warm chocolate. Best dessert value on the promenade in my opinion.
  • One frozen drink, not four. The slushes are wonderful and they add up fast.

I also always chase Emile's Fromage Montage, the cheese challenge where you buy a handful of designated cheese items across different booths, get your card stamped, and turn it in for a free dessert. It's a fun little scavenger hunt and it forces you to try booths you'd otherwise skip.

Grab a Festival Passport at the front of World Showcase. It's free, it lists every booth and item, and I write little notes in mine so I remember what to reorder next year.

My real numbers

Most food items run about $6 to $10. Drinks are roughly $7 to $13. Here's what I actually spend:

  • Light day: about $35 per person (five or six food items, one drink)
  • My normal day: about $55 to $65 per person (eight or nine items, two drinks)
  • Going all out: $90 and up, and honestly I don't love how I feel afterward

Two money notes: Annual Passholders and DVC members often get a discount on select items, so ask before you tap. And if you're watching your budget, my Disney World food budget post still applies here. Split everything. Two people sharing every item covers twice the booths for the same money.

What I wear for a booth crawl

Early September in Florida is still hot, so I stay in the loose linen and breathable knit family. The specific Food & Wine additions:

  • A crossbody bag, not a backpack. You are holding food constantly and you need a free hand.
  • Shoes you'd walk 12,000 steps in. World Showcase is about 1.2 miles around and you'll lap it.
  • Ears that clip on securely. I like a simple neutral or a food themed pair, and I keep them snug so I'm not chasing them in the wind by Japan. My current favorites are in my ears roundup.

One planning tip

Book a late dinner reservation as your safety net. Something around 8:30pm at Spice Road Table, Rose & Crown, or Via Napoli. If the booths fill you up, cancel it that afternoon with no penalty. If you end up snacking a lot but never actually eating a meal (this happens to me every single trip), you'll be very grateful for a table and a real plate of food.

If you're still mapping out the rest of your days, my park itinerary guides pair well with this one. Have the best time out there. 🎡

never miss a park update ✨
