Disney World Outfit Ideas for Each Park (What I Actually Wear)

If you have been searching for Disney World outfit ideas for each park, I want to give you something more helpful than a mood board. Each park has a different vibe, a different amount of walking, and a very different amount of shade. Here is exactly what I wear at all four, plus the ears I pair with each and the practical notes I wish someone had told me.

Magic Kingdom: the classic one

This is the park where I go a little more dressed up, because the photo spots are everywhere and the castle does not care that your feet hurt.

What I wear: A simple fit and flare dress or a skirt with a tucked in tee. Red, navy, light blue, and gingham all photograph beautifully against Main Street. If I want a subtle bound, I do yellow and blue for Cinderella or a soft pink for Aurora without going full costume.

Practical notes: Bring shorts to wear under a skirt. You will be climbing in and out of boats on it's a small world and Pirates of the Caribbean, and the Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover seats are low. Also, Main Street is brick, so save the brand new sandals for another day.

EPCOT: the one where you walk the most

World Showcase is a 1.2 mile loop and you will do it more than once. EPCOT is my comfort day dressed up slightly.

What I wear: A midi dress with pockets, or wide leg linen pants with a tank. EPCOT has the most adult, put together feel of the four parks, so this is where I wear the neutral outfit with one bright accessory. Food and Wine season means I also want something with a forgiving waistband, and I am not going to pretend otherwise.

Ears: Something food themed or a solid color that matches my bag. Flower and Garden and Food and Wine both release ears every year.

Hollywood Studios: the hottest pavement

This park is compact, which sounds great until you realize that means concrete radiating heat at you all day.

What I wear: Shorts and a good tee, honestly. This is my most casual park. Galaxy's Edge is the exception: if you are doing Savi's Workshop or Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run, a neutral linen set or a wrap top in tan, cream, or rust makes you look like you belong on Batuu without wearing a costume.

Ears: Star Wars ears in Galaxy's Edge, or a Toy Story pair if you are spending time in Toy Story Land. I keep these simple because I am usually sweating.

Animal Kingdom: the practical one

This is the park where outfits go to be humbled. It is the biggest park by land, the most humid, and the one with the most actual hiking.

What I wear: Athletic shorts or a comfortable romper with real sneakers. Earth tones, greens, warm neutrals. Animal print if you are feeling it. I skip anything white because the Kali River Rapids splash zone does not negotiate.

Ears: Something safari or jungle themed, or a simple green pair. Nothing heavy, because you will be in the sun on the Kilimanjaro Safaris truck.

Three rules that apply everywhere

• Shoes you have already broken in. You are walking eight to twelve miles. This is the single biggest outfit decision you will make.
• One bright piece, one neutral base. It photographs better and it packs lighter.
• Anti chafe balm. Unglamorous, essential, and the reason I can still smile at 9pm.
