Disney World Dining With Characters: Every Meal Ranked, Priced, and Explained

If you searched "Disney World dining with characters" you probably want one clear list of who shows up where, what it costs, and which ones are actually worth the money. That is exactly what this is. I have done almost all of these, some more times than I should admit, and I have opinions. 💛

How character meals work now

Almost every character meal is either a buffet or a set-price family style platter, and you pay one price whether you eat one plate or five. Characters come to your table, so there is no line and no rope to stand behind. You do not need to do anything to make them come over. Just sit, eat, and wait your turn.

Book at 60 days out at 6:00am Eastern. Prices below are per adult, before tax and tip, and they shift a little by season.

Magic Kingdom

Cinderella's Royal Table (inside the castle, around $75 breakfast / $85 lunch and dinner). You meet Cinderella in the lobby for photos, then Aurora, Snow White, Ariel, and Jasmine visit your table upstairs. The food is genuinely good, especially the breakfast, and you are eating inside the castle. It is the hardest reservation on this list. Prepaid.

Crystal Palace (Main Street, around $45 breakfast / $55 lunch and dinner). Pooh, Tigger, Piglet, and Eeyore. This is my pick for little kids and for anyone who wants a calm midday break with air conditioning and a view of the castle.

Story Book Dining is not here, but do not miss the free option: Pete's Silly Sideshow in Storybook Circus has Goofy, Donald, Minnie, and Daisy in costume with no meal required. More on Magic Kingdom.

EPCOT

Akershus is closed, so your EPCOT character meal is Garden Grill in The Land pavilion (around $55). Mickey, Pluto, Chip, and Dale in farmer outfits, family style skillet with turkey, pork, and mashed potatoes, and the restaurant slowly rotates over the Living with the Land boat ride. Very charming, very underrated.

Princess Storybook Dining is worth watching for if it returns. Check EPCOT plans before you lock your day.

Hollywood Studios

Hollywood & Vine (around $45 breakfast / $60 lunch and dinner). Disney Junior characters at breakfast and lunch (Vampirina, Doc McStuffins, Fancy Nancy, Roadster Goofy), and Minnie's seasonal dinner with Minnie, Mickey, Daisy, and Donald in holiday outfits. If your kids are under six, breakfast here is the best value at Hollywood Studios.

Animal Kingdom

Tusker House (around $50 breakfast / $60 lunch). Donald, Daisy, Mickey, and Goofy in safari gear. The buffet is the most interesting food of any character meal: African spiced chicken, jollof rice, corn pudding, and real breakfast standards too. This is my number one pick overall. Book breakfast at 8:00am and walk straight to Kilimanjaro Safaris after. See Animal Kingdom.

Resort hotels (worth the trip)

• Topolino's Terrace, Riviera, around $50. Mickey, Minnie, Donald, and Daisy in artist outfits. Best food of any character breakfast, and the Skyliner drops you right there.
• Chef Mickey's, Contemporary, around $55. The classic five: Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Donald, Pluto. Loud, fast, monorail access.
• Story Book Dining at Artist Point, Wilderness Lodge, around $70. Snow White, Dopey, Grumpy, and the Evil Queen. Best dinner and the most atmospheric room on property.
• 1900 Park Fare and 'Ohana breakfast come and go, so check dining before you plan around them.
• Trail's End / Hoop-Dee-Doo is a dinner show, not a character meal, but Mickey does appear at the Fort Wilderness campfire for free.

What I actually book

One character meal per trip, ideally Tusker House breakfast or Topolino's. Two if we have a preschooler. I skip Chef Mickey's unless someone in the group specifically asks for it, because you can meet all five of those characters in the parks for free.

Outfit note

Character meals are the photos you actually print, so I save my best outfit day for one. Coordinated colors beat matching shirts, and I pick ears that match the restaurant theme: safari prints for Tusker House, something with a little sparkle for Cinderella's Royal Table. Bring an autograph book or a pillowcase, and hand it over already open to a blank page.

Build the rest of the day around it with my itinerary approach, and always give yourself 90 minutes from check-in to walking out the door.
