Dining Inside the Castle: My Honest Guide to Cinderella's Royal Table

Dining Inside the Castle: My Honest Guide to Cinderella's Royal Table 👑

There are a handful of Disney World reservations that feel like a whole event, and this is the big one. Cinderella's Royal Table is a restaurant inside Cinderella Castle at Magic Kingdom. You walk through the castle archway, a cast member checks you in, and then you head up a stone staircase into a dining room with stained glass windows, banners, and arched ceilings. It's genuinely beautiful in there.

It's also one of the most expensive meals on property, so I want to be straight with you about what you're paying for.

How the princess part works

Here's the piece that surprises people: Cinderella greets you downstairs in the lobby, before you go up. You get a photo with her there, and those photos are included with your meal (they'll be linked to your account, so bring your MagicBand or have your app ready).

Then you go upstairs, get seated, and the other princesses come to your table during the meal. The lineup rotates, but you'll typically see some combination of Ariel, Aurora, Snow White, and Jasmine. They come to you, which is honestly the best part. No lines, no scrambling. You just eat your food and they show up one at a time.

If your kid is counting on a specific princess, I'd gently manage expectations ahead of time. The rotation isn't guaranteed.

The food

It's prix fixe at every meal, so one price covers everything.

  • Breakfast is a plated entree plus a pastry basket for the table. The caramel apple stuffed French toast is the one everyone photographs, and the beef tenderloin and eggs is the one I actually order.
  • Lunch and dinner are three courses: appetizer, entree, dessert. Major Domo's Favorite Pie (a beef and pork pie) is the signature dish, and the chocolate dessert is the showstopper.

Is the food worth the price on its own? No. The price is for the room, the princesses, and the fact that you're eating inside the castle. I think that's a fair trade once, and I don't regret a single time I've done it.

Booking strategy

Reservations open 60 days in advance at 6:00 AM Eastern, and this one goes fast. A few things that actually help:

  • Be logged into the app or website before 6:00, with your party size already set.
  • If you're staying at a Disney hotel, you get your whole trip's 60-day window at once, which is a real advantage. More on that in my hotels guide.
  • Check back constantly if you miss it. People cancel, especially around the 2-day cancellation deadline.
  • Read the payment terms when you book. Disney has changed the prepayment and cancellation policy here over the years, so don't assume.

My favorite time slot: the earliest breakfast, before the park officially opens. You get escorted down a nearly empty Main Street, U.S.A. for photos, which is worth the early alarm by itself.

What to wear

This is a photo meal, so I plan the outfit. There's no dress code, but I always lean a little dressier than normal park days.

  • A soft blue dress is the obvious Cinderella nod and it photographs beautifully against the stone and stained glass.
  • Kids absolutely can wear costumes here (under 14), and nobody will blink.
  • Comfortable shoes still matter. You're in a theme park all day afterward.
  • For ears, I go with something with a little sparkle or a tiara-style headband. The lobby photo is lit warmly, so anything with rhinestones looks great.

If you can't get it

You still have good options. Princess Fairytale Hall in Fantasyland is a free meet and greet with two princess sets. Story Book Dining at Artist Point at Wilderness Lodge has Snow White and a fantastic menu. And Be Our Guest gets you inside Beast's castle for a different kind of storybook meal.

More sit-down picks are over on my dining page, and if you want help slotting this into a day, my itinerary builder is set up for exactly that.

Do it once. Take the pictures. You'll be glad you did. ✨

never miss a park update ✨
